After observing the traditional process of construction or renovation in Catalonia and more generally in Spain, we found that the role of the architect, after his work of defining the project with the final client, is often limited to:beyond its task of technical inspection, to entrust the execution of the latter to a general manufacturer.



General constructors often have a specialty, and then subcontract all the other positions in the project that are not in their area of expertise.

This is a good solution for the architect who makes a good part of the site monitoring that he transmits to the general builder, but the end customer does not necessarily find it because he loses the opportunity to work with independent companies each competent in their specialty and has no flexibility on the choice of the different trades.
